Get to know our amazing dealers! Gordon McNeil developed an absolute passion for folk art antiques from a very young age. Having retired from his business a few years ago, he became a full time antique dealer in a brick and mortar store as well as having an online store. His absolute favorite design era / style is Folk Art / Primitive.
More from Gordon: "Works of Folk Art are artistically uninhibited and are not constrained by the dictates of mainstream art. Some of the most exciting examples invariably display an original quality which in there own way are so unique they will inspire viewers to be come collectors.
My advice to anyone thinking of designing an area is to one, add some color to the room ie put a hand woven rug with many colors, they add a great accent to the room. Secondly mix up the room with modern and vintage furniture they do most of the time go together. Thirdly by a piece of Folk Art to display as an individual piece. There really is no need to build a room around one piece."
Right now his favorite piece in the store is the two Carnival / Carousel Horses that have just come in! "The design shows the skill of the craftsmen plus the incredible age patina with that wonderful crackle paint."
