Bermingham & Co.
It’s a pleasure to announce Bermingham & Co as one of our new dealers at the Stone House. Bermingham & Co. has been furnishing 18th through 20th century antiques and decor to the interior design community since 2004. The company was founded by John and Karine Bermingham whose unusual backgrounds and interests offer a collection of unique mix of styles and period furnishings.
John Bermingham has been in the antiques business since age 16 when he got his start working with his father, a New York City antiques dealer. After receiving a BFA from New York University, John began a 15 year career at Pierre Deux Antiques where he worked closely with the founders Pierre LeVec and Pierre Moulin in every aspect of the business. In 2004, he moved uptown to E. 60th St. and opened his own shop, Bermingham & Co.
Karine Bermingham was also introduced to the antiques business by her father who was a dealer in Paris, France at the Marche Aux Puce. She trained as an upholsterer and went on to work at Bergeres et Marquises, a company known for their fine hand-made reproductions of period furniture. Since coming to the US, she has been involved in the restoration of Howard Hughes’ 1939 Trumpy motoryacht “Eleanor” as well as the landmark restaurant “Elysian Café” in Hoboken, NJ. Karine currently handles 1product development and oversees the workshops in Doylestown PA.
Bermingham & Co is one of the largest importers of silk Adras Ikats in the world. They have weavers in Uzbekistan are in constant production. So besides finding some incredible antique pieces in the Bermingham showroom at the Stone House, you will find some custom upholstered pieces using imported Ikat fabrics. You might find custom pillows, bedcovers, tablecloths, folding screens and lampshades or chairs, all one of a kind and look amazing with the fine antiques they offer.
